About the role
Working within the engineering team, the Project Engineer will work be involved in a variety of projects throughout the development lifecycle, from origination through to ready to build. The engineer will be assigned multiple projects and will be responsible for their engineering aspects throughout the entire lifecycle.
Experience and Qualifications
- A degree qualification in Electrical or Power Engineering.
- Profound knowledge of electrical design and operations in Transmission and Distribution (T&D) and Renewable Energy Systems (RES).
- Ability and willingness to work under pressure and deliver quality work within deadlines.
- Knowledge of PV, BESS and Wind system design considerations including EPC requirements.
- Knowledge in performing solar and/or wind resource assessments SRA/WRA, energy production assessments and energy yield analysis EYA, following standard market practices
- Experience collaborating with Technical Advisors TA on Technical Due Diligence TDD
- Understanding of tendering activities, including preparation of Request for Proposals (RfPs), and proficiency working with OEMs and EPC contracts
Responsibilities
Core PE responsibilities
- MV/HV substation design drafting (immediate)
- Initiate and maintain project related time schedule during the multiple phases of a project (immediate)
- Conduct power flow studies and grid impact studies (immediate)
- Draft and/or reviewing technical specifications for OEMs/BOPs (immediate)
- Perform project risk assessment where necessary and manage the risk register (immediate)
- Attend FAT & SAT (in due course)
Engineering cross-functional responsibilities
- Conduct when necessary project draft designs for project development support (immediate)
- Support and coordination with engineering members’ activities (immediate)
- Construction support of grid connection infrastructure (in due course)
Grid cross-functional responsibilities
- Support the grid team in securing grid access offers/ grid search and intelligence
- Conduct regulatory compliance checks where necessary
- Support in negotiations with DNOs/TSOs where necessary
- Support in maintaining and communicating regularly aspects related to cost management for connections in hand
