About the role

As a planning Graduate you will be expected to prepare early-stage planning appraisals, undertake planning research and analysis, assist with the preparation of planning applications and liaise with external consultants. A working knowledge of QGIS would be beneficial, but not essential. 

There will be a variety of exciting renewable projects to work on, located across the UK, helping develop your knowledge and skills. Your input is an essential part of our working processes. You will need that ability to manage a varied workload working as part of a team, while also having the ability to use your own initiative and be passionate about delivering the best service possible.

Training

We will provide a Professional Development Programme (PDP) to support you. In addition we will support via the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Apprenticeship scheme; or assistance with passing your RTPI Assessment of  Professional Competency (APC); whichever is most appropriate. 

During the initial two years whilst you complete your apprenticeship you will have a Chartered mentor to guide you and you’ll work with people in the Planning Team, as well as external Consultants, to build up a variety of experience and contacts to be able to meet the Apprenticeship/APC requirements; but also to share information with our multi-disciplinary teams as you progress through the business.   

Experiencing a variety of teams and working styles is fundamental to developing your understanding of how we operate at Queequeg Renewables and within the wider Renewables Sector. 

As a graduate, you’ll also have regular opportunities to attend technical, business skills and personal development activities – including conferences, courses, lectures, networking and social events.  

Career development once you’ve successfully passed your completed the Apprenticeship scheme / APC and become a member of the Royal Institution of Town Planners (RTPI), you’ll continue to receive training and career development opportunities. We will ensure that your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is current and that all Planning Team members are fully up-to-date with changes to legislation and business needs.
