About the role

Working as part of the engineering team, the CAD technician will be responsible to produce layouts for PV and BESS projects at various stages of the development lifecycle.

Experience and Qualifications

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and design solar and battery storage projects, ensuring they meet technical specifications, engineering team requirements, and regulatory standards.
• Utilise software tools, including AutoCAD and PVDesign, to create, modify, and optimise design layouts.
• Liaise with team members to interpret technical designs and apply regular changes.
• Produce the layout package suites to support the planning application for multiple projects ranging in capacity for large-scale solar and battery storage projects.

Skills

• Previous experience in solar PV and battery storage layout design is required.
• Familiarity with solar PV design principles, AutoCAD, and PVDesign (or willingness to learn PVDesign and QGIS).
• Strong project planning and execution skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines with high quality deliverables.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal teams across the company.
• Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new experiences.
• A passionate team player with a strong commitment to addressing climate change.
• The ability to manage multiple different work items simultaneously and self-prioritise
• Be methodical and disciplined when it comes to organising and storing project drawings and data
